Singapore, 24 Aug 2026 — Aevice Health, in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Denka Company Limited, today announced the launch of the Cough Analysis Learning Model (Project CALM). This tripartite collaboration aims to transform respiratory care by using artificial intelligence to decode the "signature" of a cough, providing a non-invasive window into a patient’s lung health. 

Cough is one of the most common reasons people seek medical care, yet it remains difficult to assess consistently outside the clinic. For patients, this can mean delayed answers, repeated visits or uncertainty about whether symptoms are improving or worsening. For healthcare systems, it creates an ongoing need for more objective, scalable tools that can support earlier detection and better management of respiratory conditions.

By combining clinical expertise, academic research, and wearable technology, project CALM is designed to move cough analysis from scientific exploration toward practical, real-world healthcare use. The project will develop AI models capable of automatically detecting cough sounds and classifying them into clinically relevant cough sound phenotypes associated with underlying respiratory conditions, to support earlier diagnosis and more informed management of respiratory conditions.
